Law and Order

The only true or absolute law is universal law.

The only true or absolute order is what is.

All perceived disorder exists only in the mind of man.

Everything is natural. "Supernatural" only displays the limits of man's knowledge and experience.

Everything is normal (or the way it is supposed to be). "Paranormal" only describes what our limited perception is just glimpsing.

Everything is metaphysical. The physical that we experience is only a small cross section of reality.

Vision

A good friend of mine recently sent me an email. The message inside was so good (and quite relevant to the purpose of this blog) that I had to share it with everyone. Check it out:
Change Your Thinking
It will take just 37 seconds to read this and change your thinking..

Two men, both seriously ill, occupied the same hospital room.

One man was allowed to sit up in his bed for an hour each afternoon to help drain the fluid from his lungs.

His bed was next to the room's only window.

The other man had to spend all his time flat on his back.

The men talked for hours on end.

They spoke of their wives and families, their homes, their jobs, their involvement in the military service, where they had been on vacation..

Every afternoon, when the man in the bed by the window could sit up, he would pass the time by describing to his roommate all the things he could see outside the window..

The man in the other bed began to live for those one hour periods where his world would be broadened and enlivened by all the activity and color of the world outside.

The window overlooked a park with a lovely lake.

Ducks and swans played on the water while children sailed their model boats. Young lovers walked arm in arm amidst flowers of every color and a fine view of the city skyline could be seen in the distance.

As the man by the window described all this in exquisite details, the man on the other side of the room would close his eyes and imagine this picturesque scene.

One warm afternoon, the man by the window described a parade passing by.

Although the other man could not hear the band - he could see it in his mind's eye as the gentleman by the window portrayed it with descriptive words.

Days, weeks and months passed.

One morning, the day nurse arrived to bring water for their baths only to find the lifeless body of the man by the window, who had died peacefully in his sleep.

She was saddened and called the hospital attendants to take the body away.

As soon as it seemed appropriate, the other man asked if he could be moved next to the window. The nurse was happy to make the switch, and after making sure he was comfortable, she left him alone..

Slowly, painfully, he propped himself up on one elbow to take his first look at the real world outside.

He strained to slowly turn to look out the window besides the bed.

It faced a blank wall.

The man asked the nurse what could have compelled his deceased roommate who had described such wonderful things outside this window.

The nurse responded that the man was blind and could not even see the wall.

She said, 'Perhaps he just wanted to encourage you.'

Epilogue:

There is tremendous happiness in making others happy, despite our own situations.

Shared grief is half the sorrow, but happiness when shared, is doubled.

If you want to feel rich, just count all the things you have that money can't buy.

Nuff said. :-)

Profound Profanity

This post is an exercise in realizing the power and intent you put into language. While you take in the possibly offensive content, observe yourself and your subtle reactions.

We have all, to some extent, been instructed or conditioned to carry with us a negative charge associated with specific sounds. Some people are able to eliminate this negative charge by realizing that a word only has the meaning you give it and no more. Others maintain the negative association and keep the negative charge alive for the next generation to inherit.

The irony of it all is that if not for the people holding on to the idea of the negative association, the words would simply stop being negative in any way shape or form. In other words, the people resisting the use of a word, are actually the ones charging it with negativity. The negativity only exists in their minds. The word is only a sound. It is neither positive or negative. It just is. Only when interpreted by the mind is any association made. Beauty is in the eye of the observer.

To illustrate, here are a couple of "profane" words that have such an amazing amount of versatility, they can be used in countless ways (and are....quite frequently!). Because these words are used in such diverse ways, it's pretty easy to see how it is us who gives them their meaning and us who decides to hold on to or let go of the negative aspect.

Shit may just be the most versatile word in the English language.

You can be shit faced, shit out of luck, or have shit for brains. (do we know someone like this????)
Sometimes you just plain ole get "the shits".
With a little effort you can get your shit together, find a place for your shit or decide to shit or get off the pot.
You can smoke shit, buy shit, sell shit, lose shit, find shit, forget shit, and tell others to eat shit and die.
You can shit or go blind, have a shit fit or just shit your life away.
Some people know their shit while others can't tell the difference between shit and shineola.
Other people just have a Shit eatin' grin on their face all of the time.
There are lucky shits, dumb shits, crazy shits, and sweet shits.
There is bull shit, horse shit and chicken shit.
You can throw shit, sling shit, catch shit, or duck when shit hits the fan. You can give a shit or serve shit on shingle.
You can find yourself in deep shit, or be happier than a pig in shit.
Some days are colder than shit, some days are hotter than shit, and some days are just plain shitty.
Some music sounds like shit, things can look like shit, and there are times when you feel like shit.
You can have too much shit, not enough shit, the right shit, the wrong shit or a lot of weird shit.
You can carry shit, have a mountain of shit, or find yourself up shit's creek without a paddle.
Sometimes you really need this shit and sometimes you don't want any shit at all.
Sometimes everything you touch turns to shit and other times you swim in a lake of shit and come out smelling like a rose.
When you stop to consider all the facts, it's the basic building block of creation.
And remember, once you know your shit, you don't need to know anything else!
Holy Shit!! Thanks for letting me shoot the shit with you!

These were only a couple of "curses". The others can be used in various contexts as well. The fact that we call these words "curses" or "curse words" is another clue as to the negative association we carry around with us if we are not aware of it. This is not only true about words; it's true about everything!

Check out the posts below to further explore this concept.

The Last Shall Be First

I'm the last person to advocate religion in general. Although what I frequently speak of has everything to do with a higher power, it is generally in the context of a universal appeal and not segmented by religious views. Dogma can be quite limiting and suffocating to true spiritual growth.

On the other hand, I can see the element of truth in each and every single faith. Though later he was often misinterpreted, Jesus Christ for example, spread undeniable truth to the world. I'm sure most people have heard the phrase by Jesus stating, "The truth shall set you free." Indeed, no matter how you interpret this, I'm sure most agree.

In the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus declares that in the world to come, “The last shall be first and the first last.” Now, I don't claim to know exactly what he meant by this statement, but one thing that came to me recently was this phrase exactly describes the way we perceive our own senses.

Our inner senses are often ignored. Most people are taught and conditioned to only validate what their five physical senses tell them is real and everything else is swept under the rug of coincidence and impossibility. In other words, the five senses are always first in priority.

"Extra" sensory perception (ESP, which actually includes many other senses we posses besides the physical five) is often called the sixth sense. The 'sixth' senses and the latent abilities we posses will soon be out from under the rug and gain acknowledgment over the physical five. The 'sixth' sense or last senses to be recognized will become the first.

To illustrate, check this out:
We all have the ability to see with our mind's eye. As a matter of fact, the mind's eye is all we ever do see with! Whether the input signal is coming from the physical eyes or the imagination, all vision is experienced through the mind's eye, a.k.a, the third eye. The third eye is actually the first eye. The two physical eyes are secondary. Even a person with no physical vision is able to use their mind's eye!

In the world to come, a major paradigm shift will literally have us putting first what we used to consider last. The inner world and senses will be prioritized over exterior.

The last shall be first.

Realizing Life

Ever been indoors for a while and have the urge to go out and get some fresh air? It can feel great to get a quick change of scenery, break up some daily monotony, or just to feel the breeze.

Ever think about the fact that when your outdoors, you are still always inside?

No matter where you are, where you have been, or any where possible that you may go, you are still always inside.
Inside what? You are always within your field of perception, your perspective, your window to the worlds. This window gives you a great view of your exterior world and of the world with in.

You start realizing life to much greater degrees when you can see that the outside world only exists to us because we are always inside. In other words, there is no outside. Both what we perceive out here and with in are created and experienced with in.

Just as the dream and the dreamer; one can not exist with out the other; leading us to understand that with out you, there is no "out there!"

The Art of Peace

Most of us have heard of the "Art of War" by Sun Tzu. For those who aren't familiar with it, The Art of War is one of the oldest and most successful books on military strategy. Personally, I love the fact that Sun Tzu's philosophy makes it clear that "the peak efficiency of knowledge and strategy is to make conflict altogether unnecessary."

In other words, the ideal strategy in war is to win without fighting and accomplish the most by doing the least. This is a Taoist philosophy, and like any perception of great depth, it might appear as a paradox at first.

Although a seeming contradiction, it can be recognized that the goal of any and all conflict, or war is to achieve a greater peace. The illusion of opposites does indeed make it hard to see at times. We can realize this though simply by looking at the root intention of those involved in the conflict. We can also realize that conflict actually helps define what peace is. Peace gives conflict a meaning just the same. Without one, the other would be a constant and therefore unnoticeable. They are two sides of the same coin. They are one.

To further illustrate, check out the similarities in the best fighters and the most peaceful people:

The best warriors are able to maintain a calm in battle. They can be in full motion, yet maintain a stillness with in. They are able to adapt to whatever the circumstances are and make the absolute best out of the situation.

The people best at staying peaceful, blissful, and all around happy are people with the ability to adapt to life just as the best warriors who ever lived. They are able to adapt to whatever the circumstances are and make the absolute best out of the situation.

The art of peace and the art of war have a whole lot in common!

Feel Like a Million Bucks

Ever ask yourself, what does a million dollar moment feel like?
What does a millionaire spending a hundred grand feel like?

Can you imagine what it feels like? Come to think of it, money has nothing to do with experiencing a "million dollar moment." Being totally in the moment and feeling exactly what you want to feel like in that moment has everything to do with it.

Don't take my word for it. You have seen millionaires who are angry and depressed and you have seen broke people who are extremely ecstatic.

So there's no reason you can't feel like a million bucks anytime. It's only a matter of feeling like what you are doing is exactly what you want to be doing. Sounds strange at first, but it definitely works!

Feel like a million bucks!

Success?

What is success?

Of course different people define success differently. One thing that can not be denied by anyone's particular definition of success, is that it involves an experience of fulfilling goals and/or feeling satisfied, happy, and at peace with one's immediate position in life.

Although, in our current society most people are not in a position that they would really call successful; the key to success is not as hard as people make it out to be. First off, many people really have no idea what exactly they want to be (what occupation or role they want to play) in the first place. There is a really simple question you can ask yourself to determine if you are or will be successful.

~"Would you do it for free?"

This simple question can shed light and help bring you into alignment with your current life's purpose and mission. If you would perform the job or service you currently do right now for free for the love of it but are getting paid to do it; this is a perfect example of a win-win situation and an illustration of what it feels like to be in perfect alignment with your current purpose.

Don't take my word for it. Use your own sense... your own intuition. You can scroll backward through every extremely successful person that can come to your mind right now and realize that these people were so passionate and enthusiastic about their field of success that they would have probably been doing it for free!

Knowing this is useful to anyone undecided as to what they should be doing to be successful and feel fulfilled in their occupation. All too often, people let the money decide what they will do for a living as opposed to what their calling may be. It may seem difficult to break out of this money oriented way of looking at things, but ironically, it will put you in a place of total wealth!

Money is an after effect or a result. The source or cause of money is a feeling of wealth. ;-)
