Getting Stuck

Here's the scenario: You're moving along at a pretty good speed. Then (WHAM!) it happens. This is something you thought could never happen again! How could this be? How could a known issue still cause a problem for you?

This scenario is vague enough to describe any life experience where a past problem has resurfaced or is being experienced yet again. It is an issue we thought we had resolved, transcended, or were previously enlightened about.

Even after an awakening. which is nothing more than a widening and deepening of your perspective, it is possible to become entangled in issues you previously thought conquered. The attachment to ideas and the people closest to you can seem to disappear for a time, only to remind you of its continued existence later on. This is only proof that the attachment still resonates with you.

It is neither a good or a bad thing. It just is. And being aware of it, you can make the best of it. Embracing the idea of abundance in the attachment as opposed to the lack of it will turn it into your advantage.

You absolutely can turn an attachment into an affirmation of abundance. If you are attached to a loved one you can't be with the way you like, you have the ability to envision yourself with them in a setting to your pleasing. You can interact with that person and all the qualities you love about them. Even when you were physically with them, the loved one was only an impression on you that YOU interpreted. You can bring life to this interpretation of them at any time. It only takes concentration. The same goes for any concept or object you may feel a lack of. You have the ability to conjure it and feel it's presence.

Getting stuck or caught up on the way down your path does happen. From the perspective of a third person, you were stuck for a very short time. Maybe from your own perspective, you were stuck for a long while. Either way, time is relative and forward is the only direction. Recognize that getting stuck is only an illusion and that the evolution never stops. All adversity is worth it.

Awakening Relapse

After awakening from the control of the ego mind and feeling the freedom of tranquil vitality that is our true nature, a person can assume that there is no going back under the spell of the ego. I, myself, believed this to be true. I was not happy to find out I was mistaken.

On the other hand, I am truly grateful for the experience of a relapse back into the murky depths of the primitive ego mind. Even in the rage of a lost temper, I realized that I was being possessed by my 'lower self.' I could still look at my behavior objectively. I could still see myself from the vantage point of the Observer.

One of the reasons I am grateful for this experience is that a mood like that would have stayed with me a lot longer previous to my awakening shift. I also would have been completely enveloped in it as opposed to seeing it for what it really was; resistance to what is, simply running it's course. Shining the light of consciousness on any resistance to life situations weakens and transforms the resistance. What is left is acceptance and adaptation to the situation.

When we realize that unlearning a lifetime of behavior patterns through being aware and conscious of our higher Self happens extremely quickly, a relapse is not really a big deal. It can actually be more of a re-affirmation of what we know to be true and a chance to study the ego with more experienced eyes. It also helps to insure that a relapse of that nature will never happen again because whatever triggered it has been fully accepted and made peace with.

They say, "Whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger," and I agree. Every step is a step forward, even if it seems like a slip up. The evolution of consciousness is always in action.

Take A Good Look

What are you? What animates you? What is consciousness? Have you really taken a good look at the amazing phenomenon that is your life force? It isn't really something you can see, so maybe 'look' isn't the perfect word to describe giving this force attention. There aren't really too many other words to describe observing your consciousness though. It is 'looking;' only not so much with your eyes.

It is more of a shifting of your focus to the very feeling of your awareness. It is to be in the presence of your own presence. It is to acknowledge, with your attention, the very act of acknowledgment.

If you have never noticed your own life force or bothered to give it much attention, there are several ways to give it a try. One of the easiest ways is to focus on the silence that is always there around you. This silence exists before, during, and after every sound you hear. It is even part of loud noise and music. To bring your attention to this silence is to feel your very perception and awareness of sound.

It also works just as well to bring your attention to the space that frames everything around you. It may at first seem as if all the things that surround you frame the space that sits within it, but it is always the space that allows all objects to exist within it. To be able to notice and feel this space is to feel your very perception and awareness of matter.

Maybe even more effective, bringing your attention to the fact that you are breathing may help you to be more aware of your life force. When focused on your breath, your attention is in direct contact with your life force.

There are many other ways to focus your mind on the essence of your life force, but they all have the same results when done effectively. They all slow or still the constantly thinking mind. They allow you to look out at the world and in on yourself at the same time. They allow you to feel the very alertness and awareness that is your consciousness.

The benefit is a reduction or elimination of stress since the large majority of stress is created by the constant thought stream of the mind. You will become more relaxed and detached from anything that might have gotten you bent out of shape before. You will start to feel the underlying peace that is always with you. You may also come to realize many other benefits as well.

Why I Started This Blog

I have had a tremendous awakening. It is more of an indescribable experience that is hard to capture in words. The concept of a spiritual awakening has never been foregin to me because of the conscious atmosphere and teachings my parents exposed me to as a child. It is, on the other hand, an entirely different existence when this knowledge goes from just conceptual, to your experience of life.

As a result of this all pervasive paradigm shift, I have a level of clarity to fulfill my purpose and share with all who will listen, the rewards of knowledge of self, adaptability to what is, and the power of your focus. A life free from any kind of stress is worth sharing.

Label me as you wish, but I am not asking you to believe anything that I say. The observations, insights, and revelations I will be speaking about have been my own personal experience even if at times the catalyst for the experience was another person. In the majority of theses posts, it is best to use your own senses, experience, and intuition to determine the validity. In other words, don't take my word for it; use your common sense.

I started this blog to spread the light of conscious consciousness as far and wide as I can right now. My own experience is still expanding, but with what I know right now, I can literally help you to never suffer again.

Much more to come. For now I leave you with an excerpt from my book, "What Is Really Good?"

The conscious awareness varies in degrees; more dominant at times and more subtle at others. I know that I can never return to a state of total unconsciousness where my awareness is not present.

When I'm in a higher degree of awareness, I can feel the utter sacredness of everything. It is a sensation of being aware of your own vision and senses while simultaneously feeling there is a greater force, presence, or power that is seeing through your eyes and operating your body. The result is an experience of heightened perception. The world is viewed with a new wonder and everything seems brand new as if you are truly seeing things for the first time. There is a new appreciation for nature and everything else for that matter. You realize the beauty usually looked over and the simple everyday miracles that are all around; the stunning display of color in flowers, the way a bird soars through the air, a rainbow in the mist.

The greater force or presence that is noticeably behind your perception during a time of a higher degree of awareness feels pure, exalted, divine, regal, joyful, peaceful, holy, and sacred; and yet none of these words fully describes it. You can't help but feel that everything you lay your eyes on has the same feeling and qualities of sacredness as your true self. Even what you can't see, the very atmosphere, the empty space has this feel about it.

Later I thought, "How can anything that the Infinite lays his eyes on be anything but holy, and sacred?"

As time goes on, the consciousness keeps growing. It arises on it's own without the effort of focusing my awareness. It is becoming a permanent part of my perception. Every single day is a gift.
I see things happen that I know I attracted to me just as a result of being in tune.

There is no suffering, sadness, worry, or dread. There is only a range of feelings from contentment to joy to blissfully ecstatic.

I have continuing insights, revelations, inspiration, and the like. I am constantly seeing the truth in different forms and concepts. I realize that all creative processes and innovations come from that universal intelligence; the space before and after actual thought. Our appreciation for all talent, beauty, heroism, generosity; basically all things considered positive; comes from the universal intelligence through us; whether we are conscious of it or not.
